NEW RESIDENT ARTIST JOINS HERE

HERE has been fortunate enough to showcase some amazing artists, and we are very pleased to announce its new resident artist, Leonard Green.   Leonard’s work can be seen brightening up the HERE reception, break-out areas and walkways, as well as helping to enhance the vibrant and stimulating environment HERE is known for.

Leonard Green originally studied Foundation Art at Wigan School of Art; he then studied Fine Art at Manchester University, achieving both a BA (Hons) and an MA degree. Amongst the exhibitions he was involved in during the late 70s and 80s was a one-man show at the prestigious and contemporary Turnpike Gallery in Leigh, Greater Manchester. Len has exhibited at many of the UK’s leading galleries, including the Royal Academy for which he is also in the final selection for the 2019 exhibition.
A man of many talents, in the course of his early development as an artist he became a semi-professional DJ, lectured in art, and has been a very successful swimming coach for the Wigan Wasps (as well as being a competitive swimmer himself!).
Leonard’s passion for 1960s Northern Soul music, which has tremendous energy and a sense of abandonment in a physical and a romantic context, is reflected in his painting style.
During his time as an artist he has worked with most mediums – oil paints, acrylic paints, inks, watercolour, collage, and multimedia – but these days prefers (mainly for practical reasons) to work in acrylic paints and predominantly on canvas. More information about Len and his work can be found on his website: Leonardgreenartist
